I have recently seen small to medium businesses drop at a rate of flies, as today’s current economical climate seems to get stormier. The Common denominator seems to be cash flow and a major lack of it. In this article I will explain why and how to recession proof you business.
Many of the problems that small to medium businesses are facing are coming from the fact the banks aren’t lending to help with cash flow, but yet still want the outstanding loans paid on time or in some cases in full! This shows just how little the owners of these small to medium businesses actually have over their business.
For people starting a business today, there are two major factors to bear in mind when setting up and that is keep overheads to a minimum and to keep loans to a minimum or none (that’s if you can get one). The way the savvy people are making money today is the internet. Yes it’s been around for ages but not everyone is using it’s full potential; you can run an online business for pennies compared to the old methods of having a shop, and staff, heating and lighting ect.
In fact you don’t even need a website anymore! There is a method of making money on-line called internet marketing and quite frankly it’s a brilliant concept. The way it works is that there are companies out there that will pay you a commission for getting people to buy their products, but how do you get people to buy their products on-line without a website?
The answer is you direct internet ‘traffic’ to the seller’s website and once the customer makes a purchase, you then get a commission payment of anywhere from 40, 50 up to 75% of the products value. You maybe asking why isn’t everybody doing this and the simple answer is, there are. Thousands of people are doing this but only a handful of people are doing it properly!
This is why it is such a lucrative market to be in, the overheads are ridiculously low, so is the risk but yet the rewards are astronomical! I started off like most internet marketers, I threw a few ads together on ad words, sent out some emails to my friends and family trying to build ‘a list’ of people to market to. What I realised is I could fumble on and not get major results or I could try and find out how the pros do it and make a fortune.
So I began trawling the internet for people who said they knew what to do but when I tried their rather expensive advice my results were terrible and I began to lose faith. Luckily I then stumbled across a website that gave me step-by-step video tutorials on how to market effectively on-line, even down to how to set up an email account. I mean this guy could take someone that has just discovered the internet and teach them everything they know to make thousands of pounds per month!
